So…I enjoy cake but instead we’re serving our favorite cookie at our wedding. BUT, my mom LOVES cake, and my parents’ 35th anniversary happens to be the weekend we’re getting married! I thought it would be nice to have the top tier of their wedding cake recreated to surprise them at the reception. I now have 2 questions:
1. If I’m recreating and all, should I make the cake and filling the same, or go with something I also know they’ll love? The original cake was vanilla with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting.
2. How can I announce to everyone at the reception that we’re doing this, when we have no microphone? We’ll be in an art gallery, so I could ask a friend to turn the music way down low to present the cake. OR, since we’re having our ceremony at the Botanic Gardens, and we’re staying there for a couple hours to enjoy the gardens, drink sangria, and visit, I could present the cake there.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! I know this would mean a lot to my parents!
