I’m traveling to Italy for a 10 days in october and would like recommendations for sights and restaurants/cafes in Rome, Assissi, Orvieto, and Norcia. I plan to eat gelato in those cities everyday, too, so recs for gelaterias would be great! Thanks!

Hi An! I’m so jealous! I hear that October is the best time to go to Italy.
I’m planning on going in a couple of years and I asked the Members of the Community on one of our sister sites, eHarmony Advice, for ideas and got some really good responses. Here’s a link to that thread, it might help you out!

Hey An! I was there in May and love love love the Orvieto area (that’s actually very close to where MrDane and I are getting married!) I cannot remember the name of the gelato place we stopped by in Orvieto but it is pretty hard to miss. It is right outside the Duomo di Orvieto (huge church that is the main attraction there). If you are looking at the church from the front it is to the left.
And the suggestions I have for finding great places to eat in the smaller towns of Italy is to follow the businessmen in suits…not the other tourists. The locals definitely have their favorite spots that are usually off the main streets. You will find the hidden gems of the cities this way!! Have fun!
