I voted for round. It’s purely personal preference, I don’t like the look of long tables. Also round tables are easier for me to navigate around to be able to mingle with guests.

We used both at our reception place, simply because that was what we had to work with. I also noticed that as soon as the meal was over and the dancing started our guests moved about to talk amongst themselves anyways, so it didn’t really matter.

Personally I like round tables, but just so I’m not staring at someone directly across from me all night, because they’re a bit further away than a rectangular table.

Depends on venue, style of wedding and decor.

Stunning venue.  I think with that information rectangle would loook best.  Not that you could go wrong either way it will be stunning.  As a fellow bride sometimes we over think things.

I seem to be in the minority.

Round tables were actually a deal breaker for me when I was venue shopping. I do not like high centerpieces and the best looking round tables have high centerpieces.

From a logistical perspective I can also join together rectangular tables to seat 16 or 18 people. This would mean I wouldn’t have to break up groups of friends! Brownie points for making seating arrangements easier! I personally find conversation @ round tables a bit awkward… I can only really easily talk to the people next to me.

Love your venue! I personally like rectangle tables, no real reason i just prefer the look of them.

rectangle tables are better. However, table linens tend to be a little more pricey. But if that’s not a problem then go for it.

i think it mostly depends on your space. for us we could only do rectangular to fit hte space. It worked just fine and guests were talking to people beside and across from them.

Personally, I love the look of rectangle tables. I think they are more modern and chic and conversation is easier as you can talk to the person across from you, the two next to that person and the two sitting next to you. When I go to weddings with round tables I’m usually only talking to the two people directly next to me. Usually I can’t even see the people on the other side through the tall centerpieces.

My FI really likes round tables. He thinks they are actually better for conversation. So for our wedding we are having a mix. Rectangle tables flanking the dance floor since the rectangle tables will have short centerpieces and people will be able to see over them to the dance floor and round tables on the outer edges. I’ve attached a picture of our floorplan.
