- Wedding: July 2008
Since I work for a eco-friendly company, I wanted to try to incorporate some green ideas to my wedding and keeping it simple without spending a lot on centerpieces or decor. After I learned my lesson on splurging on fabric, bamboo and rice paper lanterns I decided I didn’t want to spend a lot on vases for the centerpieces. So keeping the "green concept" I decided to start collecting glass jars and wine bottles to use as vases for the flowers and centerpieces. I also, had a whole bunch of pink/brown tulle fabric left (that were meant for flowergirl dresses) and I use the tulle to wrap around the jar to hide the stems and add a splash of color to the decor. I collected all different sized jars and group 2 jars with one wine bottle to create some contrast and height. What I will also do is create a label for the wine bottle for the name of the table. The concept turned out cute and totally unique that I’m pretty happy that I didn’t have to pay for expensive vases!
