Red dress for a wedding?

Depends on the wedding, in Asian and South Asian weddings, no one other than the bride should be wearing red. This is something to confirm with the bride herself and what her wedding colours are.

glitterysala :  +1 to this. Especially in group pics, it really takes the focus away from the bride. You should be considerate and wear something less flashy.

The color is too flashy, and for a formal wedding, that dress style is all wrong.

anonbee4000 :  way too short for a formal wedding. should be knee length or longer.

Like others, I think red is fine, but not the length

anonbee4000 :  Be sure its not a South Asian wedding as another poster pointed out. Wearing red there would be considered a slap in the face.

It doesn’t look formal to me, but I’d have to see it on to give a real opinion. Can you order a bunch of dresses and return the ones that don’t work? I did that and found that many dresses did NOT look the same in person as they did online. Took about six dresses to find a good one. I did Amazon and Macy’s.

Cute!  Just wear fancy heels and a matching fancy bag to dress it up if it’s supposed to be formal.

anonbee4000 :  It is way too short to be appropriate for a formal wedding. Is there a dance? This would be pretty risqué on the dance floor if you move the wrong way…  I would suggest finding something knee length, and maybe a less bold red so that you don’t draw attention. I do love the top of the dress you found, if it had a longer hemline I wouldn’t mind it so much!

In Scandinavia wearing red means that you have slept with the groom 😏 AND it is either way way too short for a formal wedding! But its a cute dress, does it come in any other colors?

Why do people worry so much about colours? You’re there and you’re clad. That’s what counts.

Just to be more clear: i would definately not wear that to any wedding, especially not a formal one. But if you love it, buy it, and wear it to some other occasion! 🙂

I love that dress, but it looks more semi-formal than formal.  Still get it and use it for something else!
