@Future Mrs. W:  I hope you used this for your wedding! My Fiance is going to be wearing this one for our Vegas wedding in November, and I am SO excited about it, though I can’t figure out what colour my flowers should be…

I’m not a huge fan but I think it’s important that the groom gets to choose his own oufit.

If that’s what the groom wants to wear, then inverting it for the groomsmen is a neat idea.  This isn’t an actual tuxedo (those are black or midnight blue) but there’s nothing wrong with that.  I assume he knows he’s breaking “the rules” and still wants to, so he should!

You don’t hate it, and it’s what he wants, so he should wear it.

@Duncan:  I’d originally planned to have red, but now I’m worried that will make for too much red in the photos, so I’m considering red and yellow instead.

@Shannanicorn:  Is the red jacket available to try on anywhere (I’m assuming you’re renting).  If so, I’d go grab a bouquet of yellow flowers from the grocery store, and take them in to compare to the look.  I’m trying to picture it, and can’t, really, and I’m not sure it’s a good colour combination.

@Future Mrs. W:  I say go for it, it’s his day, too. Besides brides are wearing all sorts of colors these days :).

don’t let the groom and groomen match.  the groom should stand out.

i like the groom in red with black vests

and groomsmen in black with red vests.

i went to a friday early evening fall wedding with Fiance.  FI’s complaint was that the groom and groomsman looked like all the other guests.  they all wore tan suits.

he didn’t like that they didn’t stand apart from the regular guest.

@Shannanicorn:  I have been known to come up with a gem now and then.  While you’re at it, you may as well get several colours of flowers.  DEFINITELY no yellow boutonierres on a red jacket though.  No.  Ew.  Gross.  But it may be fine and lovely for yellow flowers to be around the red groom/groomsmen.  Same way he could wear a white shirt if you’re in an ivory dress and it wouldn’t look silly (though now I’m starting controversy!)

But yeah, whatever you’re thinking, test it out first.  With a non-traditional look like this, you really have to make sure you do it well, or you can look silly.  So, just try everything out, take pics, get lots of opinions, and be discerning.

@Future Mrs. W:  Very nice! I like the grey and black a lot!  And your flowers are beautiful.
