I am with you, I think ivory and champagne would work much better since the room is dim–those colors would brighten it up.

What if you went with more of a peachy color to satisfy your fiancé wanting blush or soft pink? I think a peach with that red could be gorrrrrgeous!

@BluButterfly:

Don’t feel bad, I think most brides feel the same as you, I know I do!  lol  Grooms (and men in general) are not as detail oriented when it comes to weddings so although his opinion counts (kinda, haha) you have to go with your gut and what makes you happy.  If I were in your shoes I would definitely go with the champagne and ivory with accents of peach.  It will be stunning!

My first thought was peach and gold, so blush and champagne would look great! It will help brighten it up. Just make sure you have a lot of candles to soften the red and brown into a romatic atmosphere. Maybe candelabras?

@BluButterfly:  Yeah there aren’t a lot of photos of wedding ceremonies in rooms with red walls, but a lot of people do red uplighting so I thought that might give you some ideas of how to decorate the room to lighten it up. I think adding lots of candles in addition to your centerpieces will be a great way to add romanticism and warmth as well as light.
