Hi all! While I’m wearing a traditional ivory dress for the ceremony, my reception dress is actually a bridesmaid dress (David’s Bridal F15741) in Apple, one of their deep red colors. I’m not sure what color scheme to use for the reception decor (linens, centerpieces, etc.). Would dark red be too matchy-matchy? Should I just stick with white/ivory for the linens? I’m completely lost when it comes to decor, so any thoughts would be welcome! Thanks!
Here is the dress, for reference:

I don’t think using red in the decor will be too matchy-matchy, just don’t do ALL red. Like I wouldn’t do red tables, I think that would be way too much. But you could do red centerpieces like this:
Basically, if you use red, I would stick to small pops of red rather than overwhelming the reception with red decor.

I wouln’t use red (too similar) for the linens, but then again, neither would I use white or ivory (too high contrast).
Champagne, pewter, dove grey, copper would all be possibilities.
I would find an inspiration photo that includes your apple red, then pull the colors from that.
This pic is a different red, but you will see how you can pull colors from the design.

I agree with PP’s. Using red in centerpieces will be perfect. But don’t do red linens.
