Now, I apologize for deleting a thread and such but I felt it was best as there was plenty of misunderstanding on the last post. So, now on to the details!
Hairstylist in question, referred to as H from here on out for simplicity, has been doing FMIL’s hair for about five years or so I believe and has been doing FI’s hair for maybe three. Future Mother-In-Law has a bad habit of trying to invite everyone to the wedding that she comes across. I have had my hair done at H’s salon only once before but felt that if she does such a good job on my new family’s hair, then surely she could do my hair trial and makeup. So, she OFFERED to do my trial and wedding makeup and hair to both me and my Future Mother-In-Law when she went in for her appointments. I don’t know if she offered for free or not, but I told her and Future Mother-In-Law I was going to pay her no matter what.
So this was supposed to be a done deal, she wanted to do it so I have been scouring the internet for inspiration pictures. I find four and give them to Fiance to take to her to practice and to schedule a trial. Well, when she sees the pictures she flat out refuses to even attempt to do a trial. Makeup included.
Why is that?
Because she can’t braid. Yes. That’s right. o.O
She graduated from cosmo school and everything.
Well, I feel that this lady could at least ATTEMPT to do a trial. Since she you know, offered and everything to do this months ago. So needless to say, I am a bit bewildered and confused and now, without a MUA or hairstylist for the wedding.
So rather than even say that she’s sorry, she tries to pawn me off on a new girl, fresh in the country and such, who knows no English…while the girl in question ISNT EVEN THERE. So it isn’t like anyone could even ask this girl if she could/would or anything. H tries to force Fiance into making me an appointment with this girl FOR THE WEDDING without a TRIAL. Now keep in mind, I am having a breakfast ceremony/brunch reception so she would need to be there/I would have to be at her salon at 7am. I feel that her actions here were the most unprofessional. I don’t know whether to try to call this lady, Loli (which is a name I love and why I pointed it out, not to insult her or anything), and try to explain my situation or if I will simply go back to my old hairstylist and spend tons of money on her as she is over-the-top expensive. =/ And doesn’t do makeup. Argh.
And really. It’s my wedding hair. And I am NOT doing anything with anyone without a TRIAL. I mean come onnn now.
So, as for her being invited. Future Mother-In-Law (remember where I said she invites everyone) apparently invited this woman to the wedding months ago, verbally. Invitations still have not been sent out, and I expect loads of hurt feelings because we are having a thirty-person wedding maximum. But Future Mother-In-Law didn’t tell anyone that she had invited her (or like, a hundred other people verbally…argh) so before I blew my lid, I had a calm moment. If I am asking this lady to come to me and do my hair/MU at 7am, I figure I can at least let her sit through the wedding and reception and make everyone happy.
But I would not invite this woman otherwise. So…I do not believe she will be getting a formal invitation to my wedding. I don’t see a point. If she was already going to be there then sure, maybe, so as to not cause any hurt feelings. But now…no. =/
I’m mainly upset that she 1) can’t braid like what. 2) refuses to even try to do anything at all after offering 3) still apparently expects to come to the wedding. and according to my Fiance, she even self-invited her husband. Like wtf. -.-
