Nope – but thats because of this little Gem of a story. I was named after my Grandma (Dad’s mom). I grew up with my other grandma (my mom’s mom) always saying how stupid my name was and how I was named after a little witch. Now I realize that is extream and its also very odd because my mom’s mom and actually a very sweet lady. Since I’m older now I realize the anger stemmed out of jealousy. I doubt my children would ever experience anything similar but I am not going to risk it!

is there anyway to make a combo of the middle name or create a new one that combines both? I’ve thought about this too and came up with a normal middle name (Leanne) that combines the names of the two people I want to incorporate.

You need to do whatever you feel is best but personally, I would rather name my future children after my family then pick some name that my fiance and I like.

I’m not about to give my kid a name that sounds like crap just for the sake of honoring someone important to me.

To me, that sounds backwords. But hey, you do whats right for your family.

@UpstateCait:  yeah whatever you choose – YOU get to choose it. There’s nothing wrong with deciding you want to use a name that you and your Darling Husband like instead of using a family name. There’s no rule that says the middle name must be after someone in the family 😉

Do you like any other variations of Elizabeth? Maybe Fiona Isabelle, Fiona Elsbeth, Fiona Bethany (I don’t think this is technically the same as Elizabeth but it sounds like is)

Or if your mom has an attractive maiden name you could use it as a middle name for a boy and save Michelle.

@UpstateCait:  Fionna Liselle, Fionna Elle/Ellie

Lol, that’s about all I can come up with that’s normal. My ‘out there’ one would be Mischabeth.
