So I’m diligently looking at the wedding registry posts trying to tweak mine before my shower in a few weeks. I’m trying to stay practical, timeless, and fitting. I love to bake, cook, and feed freinds. I registered for the classic white Fiestaware for it’s durability and it’s ability to be “dressed up” for special occasions since we are not registering for china. (I’ll inherit several sets and until then I have no use for one) Would it look bad if I register for the fiesta ware at dillards, but also one set of corelle at walmart? I have a connective tissue disorder and some days heavy plates would be painful. I’d really like a set of white corelle for those days where lifting is difficult, but I don’t want to use them for parties.
Just wondering if it would look bad since most of my guests probably wouldn’t think of why I registered for both.
Thanks for your help!

I think that sounds fine. I doubt people put that much critical thought into why you’ve registered for what. As long as there is stuff in their price range, I think they’re happy.

I don’t think it looks bad at all! Fiance and I did the same thing since we did not register for fine china. We picked one set that can be dressed up (white with a nice bead border) for more formal dinners and then a set from crate and barrel with this blue swirl on them.
Something we did do was register for different pieces in each. We asked for both sets of dinner plates and salad plates, but only registered for soup bowls and tea cups in the white dishware and cereal bowls and mugs in the blue. To me this helped make it clearer in my own head “Ok this is the stuff we’re using for entertaining” and “this is the stuff for dinners in front of the tv.”

Thanks Ladies. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some hidden taboo that I was unaware of.

I asked a question similar to this a few weeks ago. I already have fiestaware and tons of it. My family knows I am obsessed. I wanted to add some other brands to our registry when we register (maybe corelle). Everyone seemed to think it sounded fine! Just make sure you have lots of gifts at different price points.

I think people would understand the need for more than one set of dishes. Go for it!

I think that sounds fine! I have Corelle just because it’s so convenient for the microwave (it doesn’t heat up much) and it’s cheap & durable (don’t have to worry when taking something to a picnic or something). I’m sure people understand that they’re kind of two different things.
