WOAH WHAT?! Honestly, just give what you can afford, don’t break the bank over it.

Wow, that’s fucking stupid.

If you want to give a monetary gift seperatr from their registry then it would be beyond appropriate. That’s basically what they registered for anyway. Ugh.

Anyone who registers soley at Tiffanys and for a Lambo is getting a used toaster from me. And thats that. (seriously).

If youre feeling generous because theyre family, spend what you normally would even if it amounts to a fork. Then tell them where they can shove that Tiffany fork.

sumshine.dawn:  That’s absurd. I would buy them something sentimental and reasonably priced from wherever the eff I felt like.

sumshine.dawn:  Then seriously dont worry about buying off their dreadfully rude registry. Oven mitts. 100 dollars worth of oven mitts.

sumshine.dawn:  Just get them a gift card to Tiffany’s, so they can put it towards whatever they want, be it half a fork or a toothpick.

P.S. I remember receiving 2 things off my registry, for wedding gifts. (Back then shower gifting was a free-for-all). I spent the two days after the wedding returning multiples, the “what the heck are we supposed to do with this?” stuff,  etc. 10 years of marriage and 3 homes later, I still had a couple boxes of stuff I’d never used.

I thought this sounded familiar and realized you posted about it before: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/is-this-for-real-8/

I think you got a variety of useful comments there.

I’ll say more or less the same thing I said there: I think it’s definitely ridiculous, but at the same time, they’re giving people the option to contribute to things, and 100% of people are going to take that option, so I don’t think it’s something worth stressing about. I’d just contribute $100 to a random item and call it a day.

Some Tiffany glassware isn’t terribly expensive (http://tinyurl.com/o4kjmaj or http://tinyurl.com/ox5trzf), both of which I have even given as wedding gifts. However, did they not register anywhere else? If not, that is absolutely ridiculous–and quite rude. I’d just stick with a card.

sumshine.dawn:  Then just buy something cheap. I would much rather have it thrown in the trash than participate in their douchebaggery. Why reward that or pretend it’s ok?

Who are these people? Kardashians? I didn’t even know they made $20000 beds.
