- Wedding: May 2012
Slight background info: Fiance is living out of town (about five hours away) until any time between March and June. We see each other about once a month for a long weekend (with December and March–if he’s still out there–as exceptions). This December, he will be home for about two weeks. We’ve been making lists of things we need to accomplish whenever we see each other in those months, as well as things to accomplish on our own.
This brings me to the question of registering. We just talked about this yesterday, before I left to come home. We have decided to register at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and then each of us would choose a store. With a June 23rd wedding, we thought we’d look at a few stores in February, and then register in March. I’m a little nervous about not starting until March. Assuming he’s still down there in March, and I’m there for a 4-5 day visit, that leaves us those days to register. Plus, it’d be nice to do other things and not just be frantically trying to accomplish this. As of right now, my first shower will be the last week of April. We could also probably schedule another visit before that as well. I was talking to my mom, and she was surprised we weren’t starting while he was here in December.
Generally speaking, when is a good time to start registering? I know stores can differ. Like I said earlier, we will definitely be registering at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. From there, I could see Crate and Barrel, Target, or Macy’s as being other potential stores. What do you all think? Have you started registering yet/thought about it, or have a plan going?
