@zonabee:  I did the same thing and it makes it even more convenient for people.  They do not even have to leave their homes to do it!  And MOST of our presents have come to us in the mail anyway (even if the people are coming to the wedding).

Sometimes you can get online only orders shipped to store if people really want to pick it up and give it to you personally but I’m not sure if your store offers that. Very few do. The GOOD thing is since it’s Target, returns will be easy as long as you have a receipt. I personally like being able to leave my house to shop but I am also addicted to online shopping so either way it’s a win win for someone like me but for weddings I like to see what I am buying the couple so I usually go to the store to check out the quality, etc (however the best thing about online shopping even if it’s just to get an idea for when you physically go is you can read the reviews on the product).

So long story short it works just fine either wya for someone like me!

I’m old fashioned and like to go to the store and look at things in person.  I had a small blip with this for my shower as my aunt had bought something online and sent to us but it was shattered when I opened the box.  I called the store and told them, nice as can be and were sending a replacement asap.  The replacement came but it was the wrong item ordered.  Had said aunt bought in store, it probably wouldn’t have broken, or if it did exchanging in store would have been easier (was not allowed to exchange in store because it was ordered online).

I know it’s easier on all accounts to order something online and have it direclty sent to the couple.  I am more inclined to do this if shipping is free.  Do you have things in store also or is everything online?  Maybe having some of both would be a good idea.

I too love the online only idea for myself personally but I can tell you that you can be disappointed too. I’m like another poster…I do enjoy looking at it in person when purchasing for others.

Sometimes sizes look totally different online or colors, too. Or something looks wood but is plastic or something like that.

I feel if it’s a name brand…I think you will mostly be safe. But for things like linens, flatware or something that is a store or not common brand…go see it if you can. 🙂
