@rudytheboxer:  I have the Marin from CB.  I was wondering about it being too funky as well.  But honestly, we LOVE these.  They are basic enough to go with everything but different enough that they look awesome.  We are very happy!!

@rudytheboxer:  We just bought 12 settings if Mikasa Lucerne at Costco for $200.  I was planning on registering for something plain and white, but I figured for that price I might as well buy them for myself and save space on the registry for fun stuff!

@rudytheboxer:  I am so happy to see this post! We are looking for the same thing you are, so all of thee suggestions were really helpful to me too. I also love the Pearl one at C&B, but, like yours, my Fiance says its too girly. And we don’t love anything else. We’re leaning towards Roulette, but may just go with a really plain one.

I do second others rec for bone china or porcelain though–its a lot more durable than stoneware (don’t let the more delicate feel fool you)

@red_pepper_gal:  +1 We have the Sophie Conran by Portmerion dishes in a mix of white and celedon. Darling Husband and I love them.
