My grandma swears by caphalon so that is what we registered for. I’ve heard great thingss about all clad though. I definitely didnt want to get teflon because of the chemicals, but the caphalon set we found at bed bath and beyond is a different non stick material.

there’s also a caphalon stainless steel set too.

Isn’t that hard to clean?

Just talked to my Future Sister-In-Law last night about her pans – Calphalon nonstick stainless.  She was showing me how on the bottom of one pan the coating is PEALING OFF.  They have only had their set for about 3 years!

We were considering the stainless steel set, but now are reconsidering. I also read a review saying that if you hit the side of the pan with a utensil (like if you were trying to get the food off after stirring) it can cause dents in the side of the pot!

I’ve heard great things about both All Clad and the Culinary Institute of America Cookware. I also have a Le Creuset pan that I love.

I can’t wait to register for all the good stuff! And I am so with you on the no teflon front. People always think I’m crazy for it, but those chemicals released in the air can hurt birds even at the temperatures that are “safe for humans.”

Plus, food just cooks better in quality cookware.

I really like our Calphalon stuff.  It’s very easy to clean by hand.

If you want the best, it’s All Clad. I’ve done a ton of research and have a bunch of foodie friends, they all swear by it.

I think you should do some reading and research because a lot of brands have different levels of quality. Calphalon for example has a very high end brand and several lower brands.

I will say that Fiance and I bought this Rachael Ray set a year ago and we LOVE it! http://www.amazon.com/Rachael-Ray-10-Piece-Hard-Anodized-Cookware/dp/B000HTW7NW And no we did not buy because we adore Rachael Ray, haha Seriously though, the set is well priced, good quality, non-stick, heat evenly and we have been so happy with the set that we are not registering for pots!

There are also several other additional pots that you can buy to accompany this set and I think you can buy the set in a couple of other colors if you do not like the orange.

Good luck!

We regsitered for the stainless steel Calphalon set too!  We were between that one and the All-Clad one.  Heard great things about both, but the price and ergonomic handles of the Calphalon set made it the winner.

go for CIA (cullinary institute of america.) All clad is 3 0r 5 ply if you pay a LOT.

CIA is 7! I used to work at a high end gourmet store and we sold both, the CIA doesn’t even compare because it is so much better!

I did a lot of research on pots and pans too. Fiance and I LOVE to cook and our set was a Tfal Walmart special. Such crap.

Anyhoo, we know stainless steel IS the best kind you can get. But. I feel like our cooking skills aren’t there yet! we still need some kind of non teflon non stick! So we went with Circulon Infinite. No chemicals. Let me take that back! I guess it’s not true. But I’m not that worried about it. Just me. Sealed

All Clad is definitely a couple steps up Calphalon or Circulon. But $$$$$$$. I personally don’t foresee anyone buying us pots and pans that expensive.

But I def agree that the All Clad and CIA pots I’ve seen are VERY nice.

I’m still contemplating on the Le Creuset. Wondering if anyone would really buy us a pot that is that expensive. FI’s been keeping an eye otu at Marshalls, TJ Maxx etc. If he sees a good deal I gave him the go ahead to snatch it up!

We’ve been very happy with our Calphalon Contemporary stainless set. It had the ‘look’ we wanted but with a much smaller pricetag than All-Clad. No one would have bought us the All-Clad, I don’t think!  We haven’t had any problems with durability, I love the glass lids and they clean up nicely with a little Barkeeper’s Friend. 🙂
