My fiance and I have been living together for more than 2 years and we have most of the household things that we need. Is it okay to slip in some more personal items, like books or cds, with the traditional home items on a registry?

I think adding a few personal items is ok. I wouldn’t get too carried away though. Another idea since you already have the majority of the household needs is to create a honeymoon registry so that people can contribute to your honeymoon.

We added like 2 or 3 blue rays we would like. I think it is okay if 1 or 2 items are movies/cd/books. I wouldn’t go overboard.

In moderation, I’d think it’s okay. Too many and you risk offending your guests. Of course, that’s all subject to who your guests are!

I would say no. But I dont like registries in general…so maybe I’m biased.

I’ve seen registries with beer, mountain dew, duct tape, and WD-40. I think a few books/CDs/DVDs is perfectly fine! I’ve even seen several with board games. Like PP have said, as long as it’s in moderation.

Honestly, I would think it was odd if I saw books/CDs on a registry. Of course, I’ve never been to a wedding with a honeymoon registry so maybe my crowd is more traditional.

Personally, I’d keep the books, cds, and games to a minimum. Cook books or books about marriage or communication are totally fine. If you entertain, board games or dinner music would be appropriate too. I’m not sure I’d but a Stephen King bestseller or Rihanna’s new album on a wedding registry though…
