my fiance and i just created our first registry last weekend, and i know at least one or two people have already purchased from it, but i’ve been REALLY good and haven’t logged in to look at it yet!

I watched mine to make sure that things weren’t being discontinued and there was still a selection left on the website.  I don’t think it ruined the suprise to know that something was bought since you don’t know who bought it (and you were expecting it would be bought when you put it on the registry).

I started watching it in order to update things and like MissAsB said, make sure things weren’t discontinued, which has happened a lot. And then I had baby items appearing on my registry haha, random I know. Plus, my shower is this weekend, so after that I’ll log back on and make sure that it’s well “stocked” for the wedding.

But it is tempting too! But I don’t want to take away too much surprise!

i created my registries this past sunday with my FMIL!  i went to double check we didn’t have doubles from one store to the next yesterday and post the links on our wedsite and *shazam* we already had 2 gifts purchased!  i of course knew it was the Future In-Laws because no one else even knew we were registered!  but i totally have the fever, i cant wait till our invites go out and the ball gets rolling! haha…

My Fiance and I agreed not to look, but we registered for 90% of our stuff at Bed Bath and Beyond, and when you log on at the top it tells you how many gifts have been bought and how many are left. So I don’t look at the actual items we got but I do log on a lot to see if the number of gifts we have gotten has increased! haha…I have updated it a few times though for discontinued things as well, though.

Oh, and I had my showers already and for each one, the number of things bought always spiked way up the 48 hours before the shower, and then nothing after. Apparently everyone waits to buy gifts lol

I absolutely check mine – almost to obsession!  I have no problem looking at what people buy us – or using it once it gets here!  I had no idea we weren’t suppose to!

    I say go for it!

We didn’t put too many things, because we don’t need it, so I am just monitoring from time to time to see if we’ll run out of things.  However, I’m not going to just add more stuff that we don’t need – I’d hope that folks would just give us a cash gift to use for things in the future or call and ask us what we want (since they waited so long).

And… I just like to see that a gift has been “fulfilled”!

I’m not supposed to be looking @ my registries b/c my bridal shower is coming up… but of course i am anyways.  My justification is that some of my items have gone out of stock, and I have had to move those items to one of my other registry stores where the item is in stock.

    I know, that’s a bad excuse.

My fiance refuses to look @ the registries until after I open my bridal shower gifts.  He is so cute.  He’s going to be so thrilled to find that someone bought our crockpot that he added to the registry.  At least I’ll still be surprised to find out which of our guests bought it for us.  That’s the exciting part for me anyways… finding out who decided to buy which gift.
