We are looking at creating a registry, but we want to create one that encompasses all of our items from VARIOUS stores– we don’t want to be tied to one or two big box places/registries.
Any suggestions of great websites? I’ve seen myregistry.com, anyone have experience with tthat particular one?
I know this probably doesn’t exist, but if we want a specific items such as linens, and it could be found on a better sale at Kohls v. Target, is there a way people can edit that item, or check it off as bought even though it’s NOT from the registered store? That would be awesome! It’s great when people can shop at stores convinent to their location/budget without having to be very restricted to the registry stores for universal items/brands.

@tampalove35: Fiance and I are using Amazon, and their Universal Registry option. It’s a little button that goes on your browser bar so if you see something you like on another website, you click the button and it adds it to your Amazon registry. Hopefully it works out. 😀

@tampalove35: We used myregistry.com!
I believe it does let people check items off as bought even if they bought it from a different place. Even for items bought from the registered stores, people need to go to the registry to mark the item as purchased. To mark an item as purchased, it asks if they bought it from the registered store, another website, or in a store (not from a website). Then it asks for an order number (if purchased from the registered store) or for an email address so that they can be contacted with any questions. Then the item is marked as purchased.
