Just one-Honeyfund.  Don’t do more than two or three (according to the etiquette books).

We are registering at three – Macy’s, BB&B, and Lowe’s.  I think if you get more than three then perhaps there aren’t enough items on each one?  I do know that I ordered a gift last night for a friend’s daughter who is getting married – they had registered at 5 places, and Fiance and I pulled up two and then ordered.  Shows a definate lack of caring, but I just didn’t have the time or inclination to spend the whole evening at it.

We’re not technically registering as we are asking for charitable donations to different charities that are important to us.

I would agree that 3 places would be the max. Register for lots of things at each so if a guest only has time to visit one store they can definitly find something suitable at that store.

Just at Macy’s.  We have a lot of out of state guests and Macy’s is pretty much everywhere.

We are registering at Macys, C&B and William Sonoma for sure- we started one at Pottery Barn and may keep it or delete all together. I’m also contemplating a honeymoon registry but haven’t decided on that one either. I am having 3 showers (I know it’s a lot but I live in HI and the wedding is in CA) and will be inviting over 300 people SO a few registries isn’t out of the question or is it?

just one, Bloomingdales. We both come from an asian background, so the registry was more for our non-asian friends who would feel more comfortable giving a gift, rather than red envelope.

I would agree 3 registries is the max, however, it also depends on how many pre-wedding events you are having. One friend (with large italian and polish families) has 4 registries but that’s because they had an engagement party and a bridal shower and almost all items from all 4 registries have been bought already!

Two at the moment (C&B & Macy’s) but I may add Williams Sonoma as there’s a few things I’d really like there.

We’ll also have one registry in Italy for Italian guests, but most Italians give cash on the day-of instead of buying a gifts.

We have 3: Target, Crate and Barrel, and BB&B. We initally only had two, but I was unimpressed with Target and Crate&Barrel’s towel and bedding selections. We’re also moving to a city that doesn’t have a C&B so I took a lot of stuff off the C&B registry and moved it to BB&B.

We have….5 (yikes! C&B, Williams Sonoma, West Elm, Bloomingdales, Z Gallerie) but there aren’t a whole bunch of stuff at each store, maybe 10-15 items at each place. Ours is mostly decorative things  and some upgrades to our linens.  It works out since his family are used to giving cash, while my family and friends will buy a present.

we have 3 now (williams sonoma, pottery barn and macy’s), but there isn’t alot on each one (it’s basically for my bridal shower). we’re probably going to have a lowe’s one also for a grill and some power tools (FI’s gotta have some fun too, right?) and a honeymoon registry for our friends.

i guess we’re over the "max" number of registries, but we really wanted to register for specific brands that bigger stores (BBB, amazon, target) didn’t carry.

also, keep in mind that the store registries offer completion programs that give you a % off anything that isn’t bought on your registry (so if you want to buy it yourself after the wedding, they give it to you at a discount). this was the reason why we decided not to consolidate our registries on a site like myregistry.com.
