Moving into our new apt, the item we needed the most was a pipe wrench to switch out the standard showerhead to the spa on I owned.  I still have the stupid standard one up.

Dear Fiance has a toolbox and power drill already, but I did add a tailgating grill and grill accessories and wireless speakers for him (we both want them regardless). He’s been wanting to add a canoe to the registry, but we live in a one-bedroom apartment, so I really don’t see that happening! But I did promise him a canoe when we buy a house.

I can’t really give you home improvement suggestions, but we did one of our registries through Amazon, and that allowed us to add stuff that was beyond the standard Bed Bath and Beyond selection.

Things my husband added and people bought for him/us: luggage, board games, video games (his friends bought these and were excited to do so).

He also added a bunch of what I would call “video game related housewares.” We have a set of coasters decorated with symbols from the one video game, a pair of bookends related to another, and a really big mug with the logo of a fake company from another video game.

Would I necessarily have chosen this stuff? No. Does my husband love it and did his friends LOVE getting him that stuff (and think of me as the cool wife)? Yes. Is that mug actually objectively great for massive amounts of coffee? Yes, yes it is.

In short, ask him if there’s anywhere he wants to register and anything he wants to add. My husband was wary at first but came to enjoy the whole process.

Why is kitchen stuff not for a guy?  Guys cook too, you know.

Do you have stuff for the yard?  Stuff for the bathroom?  Sheets?  Slow cooker?  Grill?  What do you need for your house?

besides power tool items, my dh likes things for the grill.  a smoker box, really good tongs or bbq spatula, apron and mitts, rotissarie, any accessory for the grill.

Do you have a set of basic tools?

Good hammer

Wrenches (metric and standard) -open end, adjustable, allen, monkey, torque

Pliers – needle nose, round nose, combination, wire cutter

Tape measure

Channel Lock

Saws – hand, circular, reciprocating

Tool belt or box

Drill bits for the new drill

Other tools we registered for were a sander, bar clamps, nut driver sets (standard and metric), staple gun, rubber mallet, ball pein hammer, and staple gun.

We also registered for camping gear: folding chairs, folding table, stove, dishes, percolator, and other stuff for our camp kitchen.  We’re also avid climbers so we registered for some rope and ATCs as well.

FI’s contributions

Cheap men’s bike (I already have a bike and he doesn’t.  It’s been this way for years.  He always has to run next to me haha).

Bike rack for the car

Camping grill

Camping backpack

Camping dish set

A beer making kit

And surround sound speakers for the movie room

And then honestly, Fiance does all of the cooking so all of the kitchen stuff we registered for will probably get more use from Fiance than me, but I’m excited for gadgets because then I can TRY stuff…even if I fail haha!
