There’s a somewhat similar post here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/registry-bests-what-to-get

As for what you should get – it depends on your interests and what you already have. I like baking and use my KitchenAid Mixer all the time. I also like cooking, and have started using my Cuisinart food processor a lot. My I’ve-had-this-since-I-was-17 silverware was also lacking, so we upgraded. And I hate my casual dishware, so we picked out new stuff. Other stuff we’ve yet to actually add but will, when we get around to it, are things like a microwave and a vacuum, as our old ones are dying.

A lot of registry places will have lists of “things that should be on every registry”. We used that as a guideline (at best) and have been keeping a tally of “stuff we wish we had” and are adding those things to our registry.

I love, love, love my Juiceman Jr. I never thought I would be into fresh juice, but I use it every morning!

I’m so excited…someone bought our pots and pans, printer, and tortilla press! (I know, tortilla press…we are officially ridiculous)

If you look at my registry you would probably think I own Martha Stewart stock. e Martha china, everyday plates, the works.  I definitely think you need a food processor on your registry and a stand mixer if you’ll use it.  I have heard some bad reviews of the KitchenAid Artisan mixer so I’m shooting for the Cuisinart version which seems to be more reliable.  If you like guacamole, find a molcajete to put on your registry.  I second that a mandolin slicer is a good idea.  If you don’t already have them, throw a nice vase or two on there.  There are lots of things but just remember to get what you will use and you’ll be fine.

I’m going to jump on the mandolin slicer bandwagon. Some friends gave us their old one, and I love it! It’s a little hard to clean, though, so we’re registering for a better one and will probably continue the giving chain and offer our current one to a friend of ours.
