- Wedding: December 2016
Due to immigration and church requirements in my FI’s home country, we were unable to get legally married there. Therefore, we are legalising our marriage in NZ first by having a small ceremony at the registry office, and then will be having a marriage “blessing” at the church in his home town. For all intents and purposes, this will be our “big day”, so we aren’t going to make much of a fuss of the smaller, registry office ceremony.
I will, however, be wearing a gown of sorts, which I picked up from the bridal salon where I got my dress for the blessing. I wanted something plainer and simpler, so I have ordered an Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dress in ivory, as below.
I was thinking of going for a more boho vibe with this dress, and having a flower crown and my hair either down in curls or in a side fishtail braid. I will probably have a fur shrug around my shoulders too, because it will be the middle of winter! My only concern is that I’m going to be looking too “dressed up” for the registry office!! Is it true that people really get married in jeans and sneakers?! Anyway, never mind that. It’s the day I’ll be getting legally married so it’s kind of a big deal! I want to look nice!
What do you think, Bees – will this dress look nice with a boho kind of theme? Love to hear your opinions!
