- Wedding: August 2012
We’re registered at two places and my big-ticket items are Le Creuset cookware…we both cook a good deal and are looking to upgrade. Because I already have 2 pieces in cobalt, I registered for pieces in that color. Now, both Bloomingdales and Crate and Barrel are listing most of the items as either no longer available or available in limited quantities. I contacted one of the stores and was told Le Creuset was discontinuing the cobalt.
After a little sleuthing I also found out Le Creuset released a new color–Marseille Blue–which is similar to the cobalt. Currently it is exclusive to Williams-Sonoma but Bloomingdales thinks it will be released to all retailers soon (or so they tell me). I like it quite a lot but do not want another registry. (Setting up 2 was quite enough.)
Our wedding is a ways away but we are already getting gifts off our registry. Obviously I think it’s inappropriate to have something sitting on there our guests can’t buy. Do I take down all the cobalt stuff and just cross my fingers that the new blue will be generally available soon? Do I bite the bullet and register at Williams-Sonoma? Or do I just go the conservative route and register for the black Le Creuset like my gut (and my mother) have been advising all along?
Thanks so much 🙂
