I can’t be the only one. How often did or do you stalk your registry?
I can’t help it. It has become a guilty pleasure of mine. I check it once in the morning and once at night.
I was so excited when I saw the first gift bought and then I became addicted.

At what point did you see the gifts start flying off into the purchased zone? I’m a week out from my shower and only like 10 things have been bought.

I said once a day only because my shower invites have gone out but the party is still a month away. But seeing that first gift with a zero next to it was a thriller. As long as I am on a computer I will check but I’m not going out of my way to look. Not going to lie but it will probably get disappointing at the end when there are still china sets on there, etc.

I’ve checked once, I saw nothing was off (that was almost 4 months ago) then I checked again and saw a few things were checked off. Now I am forbidding myself from looking, I forgot what we put on there, and I want to be surprised!

I sit in front of a computer all day every day, so I was bad, and checked like ALL the time! Ha. I also felt like no one was buying anything but noticed that the day before the showers and the DAY OF things really started to move really quickly! I guess all my friends and family are just procrastinators

I used to look at least twice a day. I was a bad little registry stalker.
Also, you wouldn’t believe how many of your gifts get purchased in two or so days leading up to your showers and your wedding. Even though I was a stalker, I often didn’t know all of the presents that had been purchased for my showers because several were purchased the morning of! It’s not that people didn’t care, it’s just that people procrastinate like crazy!
And for your shower, people buy gifts in-store, which means they usually don’t buy them as far in advance like they do when they buy wedding presents online to be sent to you before your wedding. Don’t worry! 🙂

I am a week out from the Shower and I have been checking every few days. It keeps it fun when there are a number of new things every time I peak! 🙂 Mr. Aardvark is staunchly anti-peeking. I told him I am when I don’t make a list but since I know what I’m getting it’s fun to see what is in the mix 🙂

@aardvark: My husband (then FI) used to tell me to stop checking the registry so the surprise wouldn’t be ruined at my showers, but I just could not do it!

@Gemstone: My Fiance yelled at me too saying I was taking the fun out of it. I said “well since I registered on my own you will be surprised no matter what, so that is fun.”

Yeh, I am bad. Once the first item was bought I couldn’t stop checking. Now my shower is one week away so I really can’t stop looking. The KitchenAid mixer was already bought and my wedding isn’t until April. I think it’s too expensive for a shower gift but who knows, it might just be someone planning ahead for a wedding present. Either way, I am excited for baking and already started looking up recipes for my new mixer!
@Annie624: I sit in front of a computer all day every day too, which you’re right, really doesn’t help!

@abrila: Your mixer could have been a group gift too. My hasn’t been bought yet but if I don’t get it, that is okay. I know it was an expensive request.

We had a shower 2 weeks ago…people definitely wait until the day of or the day before to purchase gifts! Now that I’m between events, I check it maybe once a week but I was definitely at multiple times a day before that! This thread made me feel MUCH less crazy!

AH! I seriously force myself not to think about it because I know the moment I think about checking it, or if even if I am thinking about adding something to it, I will end up wasting an hour of looking at all the items and re-reading reviews and making sure we picked the right things. I am ashamed to count the number of hours I have put into making sure our registry is just perfect.
My shower is three weeks away and the invitations just went out. I haven’t checked in a week or so, but no one has bought anything yet. I almost am tempted to go buy something just so the pressure is off.
Sometimes my Fiance will come home from work and pronounce “I have a feeling that something has been bought, I just know it!” And he will log on and check, and nothing.

To those who put never, I would advise you to start checking as you get close to your wedding so that you can make sure there is a good assortment of items left from all pricepoints.
