So we are now the proud owners of 150 dog and cat shaped cooie cutters. My original plan was a donation to the MSPCA instead of favors…but then I thought "hey why not an animal shaped cookie cutter to attach to the message?" Well, fine, great…but now another problem…if we put metal cookie cutters at each place setting, then the tables will look terrible…I picture metal braces like on teeth. We might put them in little mesh bags, but then we are looking at more of a cost. The entire plan was to give money to charity instead of favors! What should we do?? We cannot return the cookie cutters! What is my least expensive, yet attractive option?

Why don’t you just have these in a basket or something by the door, so people can just grab one as they leave.

We thought about that, but would people actually take them? I like the idea of attaching the message about the donation, but if we use a basket by the door, many people will not see that a donation has been made. Or leave the note by the place settings? Fiance wants them attached, but I could convince him otherwise.

I don’t think it necessarily has to look "terrible". Here are some ideas:
– What if you bought some pretty ribon in your colors and used them to attach the message. if the ribbon is thick the bow would be what you see when looking at the table.
– Put the cookie cutter in tissue paper in the wine glass. The cookie cutter and note would be a nice surprise when they remove the paper to receive their wine/champagne.
– I couldn’t find prices online, but you can buy little boxes/bags in pretty colors and in bulk at places like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

I second the basket idea! Maybe next to where guest pick up their table cards? Might also be nice to have a couple of pictures of cute puppies/kitties and some literature about the MSPCA nearby too to help your guests learn about the cause?

I don’t think it will look terrible 🙂 You could go to Michaels w/ on of there awesome coupons (sign up on their website if you don’t get them) and buy pretty colored ribbon for cheap. Then tie the message on the cookie cutter 🙂 I think that would look cute.
I like the basket idea, but I would also be worried that ppl would forget to take their cookie cutter.

If you are having assigned seating, use them as escort cards

I don’t think it would look terrible at all! I like the escort card idea, and with a nice card and some ribbon they’d look very cute and dressed up on an escort card table or at the dining tables.

I’ve seen cookie cutter favors before and haven’t thought of braces yet 🙂 The ones most recently that I saw were actually attached with organza ribbon to the seating cards, so guest picked them both up before heading to their seats. If you really want to hand them out afterwards, I would station two people by the exits with the baskets to hand them out as the guests leave. Either way will be a lovely gesture – I love the SPCA!

I second all the other ideas above. I really like the idea of putting them in some tissue paper and putting them in the wine glasses with the note attached. And I also really like the idea that if you put them in a basket, put some pictures of animals around it. That will draw people over to look and then they would be sure to take their cutter. Maybe put just a note at everyone’s plate and convince your Fiance that it’s okay to not be attached??

Would it be weird to use them as napkin rings? It wuold probably depend on size and shape…just a thought, though.

They may be too big for napkin rings or wine glasses….some are up to 5"!
