I don’t regret the dress style at all but going all over the place with the color. I purchased the Casablanca 1975, Ivory over Champagne. This was the color of the sample dress I tried on and I loved it. I didn’t try on the ivory over ivory. I am not going for a vintage theme but wanted a dress that was very feminine, dainty, and not too dramatic and thought this was perfect.
Last night, my fiancé was looking at a bridesmaid dress which was ivory lace over champagne (Mori Lee brand). He says he hoped I don’t get the ivory and the dressed looked “aged” which he clearly did not like.
I am hoping the champagne and ivory of the bridesmaid dress was more brown or yellow than of the Casablanca but I am not so sure. Now I am feeling kind of anxious. I got the ivory/champagne because I was afraid the ivory/ivory would wash out the lace pattern on the main body of the dress making it hard to see.
Now… not sure what to do, I thought of trying to sell it and purchase a used one in ivory/ivory? I didn’t order white as I look better in ivory. Maybe I am over thinking this? My fiancé loves to do some clothes shopping for me so I tend to believe he means what he says.

AngelineRose: You hit it on the head. The ivory over ivory will not show the beautiful lace detail. The ivory over champagne will. Your Fiance doesn’t know what he’s talking about on this one, sorry! In your professioanl pics your dress will look white maybe ivory at the darkest. The ones that tend to look a little darker are the ivory over oyster, in my opinion.
My dress was a Casablanca ivory over champange although not lace. I will show you several pics of the champagne liner but the camera makes it look mucher darker than it does in person. I will also show you pics of the ivory over oyster lace dress I tried on.

White and ivory are basically the same color. You’ll be fine. That dress is awesome, and your fiance is not going to notice the day of…

I also posted a similar lace dress in ivory that I tried on but it was an Allure. It was very dirty though so I think the color is a little darker than it would be. I will post again here

Men are stupid and fickle. Lol. I’ve read on here a 100x that grooms say something and than love the dress. I would defiantly stick with your first choice!

- Wedding: November 2013 - old cheese factory
also to add in there i think casablancas champagne is more of a flesh/pinky tone than brown.

AngelineRose: What skin tone are you? Hair color?
I’m pale with blue eyes / dark hair and I LOVE IVORY OVER CHAMPAGNE. If your fi was hating on ivory dresses, that’s just ivory dresses. Ivory over champagne is an entirely different story. Ivory over champagne (or blush, which I’m assuming is very similar) is so soft and delicate and feminine. Do you have any pics?
I’ve tried on two ivory over champagne/blush dresses and loved them both… and one of them ended up being the one. No regrets!
