While I went the traditional route and don’t have a sapphire, I adore the way they look with white gold and/or platinum and diamonds. Totally pops! I LOVE your ring girl! But that’s my setting so I might be bias 😀

The more I compare my sapphire to diamonds, the more I love my sapphire.

Dont second guess yourself! Your ring is beautiful and unique 🙂 I got engaged 2 weeks ago and I got an opal engagement ring (I’m Australian). Opals aren’t traditionally used as an engagement ring due to the softness of them compared to diamonds but they are my birth stone and I absolutely LOVE my ring. I just have to be a bit careful with mine so i dont chip or cloud my opal. My fiancé and I custom made my ring and we picked the opal together. There are so many people with gorgeous diamond rings but I just new that wasn’t for me. Own your ring and love It! It’s gorgeous! Just because it isn’t a diamond it doesn’t mean it is any less special. A friend of mine got a sterling silver pearl engagement ring on sale for $60 – and she loves it! It’s about the symbol, not the stone 🙂

Your ring is gorgeous!! Enjoy it for the reasons you fell in love with it and why your Fiance gave it to you. I went with a gemstone bc that’s what I wanted and what was fitting for Fiance and I – not a diamond – and I know it’s not run of the mill, but everyone I know just tells me how nice it is and how “it’s so you”. Don’t worry about what others are thinking – if they love you they will be happy for you and love your ring too.

I have a sapphire ring as well, my sapphires are dark and opaque and don’t really have much/if any sparkle at all and if my ring was on any other finger no body would every realise that itnwas an engagement ring. I know for my first few weeks on WB that I worried perhaps I should have gone with a diamond. Give it time. My sapphire have grown on me to the point that I wouldn’t trade it for a diamond at all… Even if we decide to go with an upgrade in the future, I’ll probably still stick with sapphires over diamond.

sapphire11:  wow that is a truly stunning beautiful ring! I see how you could second guess it with comparing it and with having other people question it or not understanding what it is but remember princess diana/kate middleton’s ering is a sapphire too!

It’s gorgeous. Remember why you picked it in the first place, and love it! Down the road you could always change the sapphire to a diamond if you really wanted to.
