- Wedding: October 2013
My fiance and I are getting married by an older, quirky, officiant. She was very charming and has a great sense of humor which was important to us. I’m Jewish, he’s not and that’s her “thing.”
One of her policies is she doesn’t do a rehearsal the day before but does a 10 minute run through the day of the wedding about an hour and a a half before the ceremony. She also said that I don’t need to be there it’s mainly for the attendants. I understand her not getting there a day before to do a traditional rehearsal. She’s nearly 2 hours away and that seems impractical so I get it. We’re also only having 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomspeople, 1 flower girl, 1 ringbearer, my dad and I, and sadly my fiances parents have both passed – so it’s not like it’s some complicated parade or anything.
I’m sort of confused about how this will work though. Would you guys feel comfortable not being at your own rehearsal for a run-through? We will be taking photos before the ceremony but I guess it won’t be such a big deal to cut out for 10 minutes to run through things. Just thinking (ahead of time) about how that day will flow..
