- Wedding: July 2014
My wedding is on July 26th, and I kind of still feel like I don’t know what I’m doing! Anyway, my question right now has to do with a rehearsal. My future Mother-In-Law talked to me about two months ago to ask what I wanted to do about the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. She was concerned because his brother is flying in from Texas the day before the wedding and she will be picking him up from the airport that day, and also, she and the rest of the family (his other brothers who are also his groomsmen) live an hour away from the venue. She didn’t like the idea of having to drive there the day before and the day of the wedding. She said that she would do whatever I want to do, though, and that she is willing to pay for a rehearsal dinner. I was thinking about maybe saving everyone the trouble and having the rehearsal the day of the wedding (our ceremony is at 5 PM). Is it possible to have a rehearsal the day of the wedding? How long do rehearsals ususally last? Our ceremony is not going to be religious or have any special customs so I can’t imagine it taking too long. Also, is it possible to have a rehearsal without the officiant present? My officiant charges an extra $200 if we want her to be present at the rehearsal (ridiculous!!).

Thank you to anyone who can answer my questions!
