Has anyone done (or heard of) a rehearsal brunch or lunch instead of a rehearsal dinner?
I know an idea behind dinnertime would be for those who may work – dinnertime could be more convenient. But, in our case, everyone who would be attending is either Out of Town (so they are here already) or do not work. Only one Bridesmaid or Best Man and one Groomsmen are local and would have to get off from work, if they don’t have that day off already. And regardless, with the jobs these two have, they can work until 10:00 p.m., anway, dinnertime wouldn’t necessarily mean convenience for them.
We’re thinking brunch or lunch because it would be easier to have the rehearsal in the morning or late morning and then go right to the meal (starting sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. we’re thinking). Also, since my parents are disabled and will have their nurse with them, it’s easier because they get tired quickly and with the wedding the next day, it would be better to get the home earlier to they have more time to rest up. Also, since the nurse will be with them all day the next day, it would be better to give her more time off beforehand, as well, so she doesn’t exceed her maximum hours per week she can work for my parents.
And, we’re going for casual and we feel dinner lends itself to formality.
