My Fiance and I are confused as what to do for our rehearseal dinner. Our venue is over an hour away from our hometown. We feel bad making people drive an hour to the rehearsal, an hour home and then another hour the following day to fo to the wedding. We were thinking about rehearsing at his Aunt’s house (Her house is HUGE) and then having a nice dinner at a local restarant. What do you guys think?? Is it completely necessary to have the rehearsal at the venue??
Thanks!

We contemplated having the rehearsal at a park because the gardens we were getting married at wanted more money to hold the rehearsal after 5 p.m. when they are closed. We ended up making it work out so that we can rehearse during the open hours, but if we would not have been able to we planned on having a rehearsal somewhere else.
I think you can do it. I would check out your venue and try and think of what things people need to be mindful of for the space before hand.

Definitely have your rehearsal and the dinner in your hometown! No need AT ALL to have the rehearsal in the actual venue. Pick somewhere that’s convenient for you and your guests, even if it’s just outside at a park close to the restaurant where you’re having dinner.
