We’re having ours at Blue Mesa Grill by Northpark, our venue is downtown near the Farmers Market. As for Out of Town guests, it’s totally up to you and your budget. If we invited everyone that’s coming in from out of town, it’d be half the wedding! I initially wanted wedding party only, but was shot down by the powers that be that are paying. We’re inviting immediate family that will be in the town the night before along with the wedding party and their spouses/SO’s. All together it comes to about 50 people, which in my mind is already a huge rehearsal dinner.

We had ours at Sonny Bryan’s in the west end.  They have a room downstairs that holds up to 70 people (I think) and were very accomodating.  Their prices were also pretty good.  We had a buffet with 3 meats, 3 sides, bread, and cobbler.  My in-laws paid for it, but I think it was around $15/person.  We also had beer & wine and paid based on consumption.

We had somewhere between 50 and 60 people.  We invited anyone participating in the wedding along with their spouses/family and family that was coming in town friday.  I think it is completely up to you on who to invite.  Sometimes its hard to draw the line on who to invite and not to invite, but it has to be done.  I don’t think there is any right or wrong answer.

Hope this helps!  I have also been to a rehearsal dinner at Texas Land & Cattle on Lemmon.  They were our 2nd choice.

Iron Cactus has a few options for private rooms and is right in downtown. Tex-Mex for out-of-town guests is always a great option!
