Do it near the hotels, people would rather do the extra driving before dinner as opposed to after.

I don’t know whether or not there is a right answer to your question.  I am having my Rehearsal Dinner closer to the church, but not all of my guests are from out of town.  My thinking is that the Rehearsal Dinner will finish up at dinner time, and didn’t want my guests to drive 30 minutes back near the hotel and then have to wait some more for their food to come out.

I’d say the hotel or in between because you will likely be inviting people to the rehearsal dinner who aren’t invited to the rehearsal (think, grandparents, dates of wedding party members, etc.).

@mrsSonthebeach:  As a wedding party date, I’ve always gone to the rehearsal, too.  Is this not the norm?

@coffeegal85:  I havent nor has my Darling Husband if we werent actually in the wedding. I don’t care to sit through a boring rehearsal if i dont have to.

@coffeegal85:  That kind of depends. Usually dates are permitted, but don’t always want to come, or they come to make transportation easier.
