I am having a destination wedding in Delray Beach Florida – the thing is my FI’s mother has offered to pay for the rehearsal, but she does not seem to understand that it is customary to invite all that are in town when doing a destination wedding….
Destination brides – are you inviting all to your rehearsal dinner? Any cost saving advice?

@amandadeenn: I would think that you should invite all guests when on a Destination Wedding. We arent having a rehearsal dinner but having a welcome party and all guests will be invited.

At my brother’s destination wedding they invited all guests to the rehearsal dinner, and I plan to do the same. Keep in mind that even if you invite all guests, there will still be some who won’t fly in early for it.
Are you having a smaller size wedding? If you explain it more to her that only close family and friends are invited to the wedding, so inviting everyone to the rehearsal dinner won’t really be many more people than close family and bridal party, that may help.
I’ve seen people limit the bar options to cut down on costs for RD’s, by only serving beer and wine, or limiting drinks per person to a certain number.
