We had alcohol available at ours. My ILs paid for everyone’s food but if they wanted alcohol, they had to purchase their own drinks. A little odd and not my choice, but they paid for it and I couldn’t complain. Everyone purchased at least one drink, I bought a couple. It’s not necessary, by any means.

We had ours at a seafood restaurant and it was open bar and many toasts were given. I don’t think it’s mandatory in any way though.

We didn’t have alcohol at our’s, and I don’t think anyone noticed it.

I’m not currently planning to serve alcohol at mine – people should be able to go an hour or two without a drink, there’s a big celebration the next day anyway, and my wedding ceremony is in the morning the next day.
The most recent rehearsal dinner I went to didn’t have alcohol and it was totally fine.

Ours is at a brewery so there will definitely be alcohol, haha. We’re only providing beer and wine though.

Thanks bees! I think I will just go with that venue that I want to have a more classy look and forgo the alcohol! Im sure it won’t be an issue and if anyone wants to go have drinks then they can after! 🙂

Drinking the night before the wedding is such a bad idea anyway. I do hair, and if there was one lesson I learned from Brides and their BMs having to get up multiple times during their service to go throw up, and cold sweating through all of their professionally applied makeup, it’s do not drink before your wedding. Obviously some people have better self control than these ladies, but many people view the rehearsal dinner as an all-you-can-drink party.
i dont believe alcohol is a requirement at the rehearsal, and honestly I think it’s a bad idea if your rehearsal is the night before your wedding.

Yes, we had alcohol at all of our wedding events (rehearsal dinner, reception, thank you brunch), but my guests like to drink. I think it really depends on your crowd.

We are having ours at a restaurant that serves alcohol, but we won’t be purchasing it. If someone wants a drink, they can start their own tab. Everyone knows this and I haven’t had any complaints. I don’t think alcohol at the rehersal dinner is a big deal. We will have plenty of fun at the reception.
