We are doing ours (hopefully!) at the Old Village Post House in Mount Pleasant.  One of their private rooms (The Pitt Street Room) can accomadate up to 50 people seated or 65 standing (mingling).  I thought Mount P would be a nice change from downtown, away from all the parking nightmares!

The boathouse on the isle of palms. We are going to taste their menu in November, but you can’t beat the location.

ktisthatbees’s suggestion is a great one! The Boathouse is amazing!

You can also look at Shem Creek. Water’s Edge or Vickery’s may have something available.

If you’re open to downtown suggestions:

We’ve had our company xmas party at Southend Brewery, Cypress and Magnolia’s in recent years. You can rent out a separate room/floor in all of those venues, and it’s always worked really well for us. We have a small Charleston presence (~30 employees), so we usually have around 50 guests.

@Ms.Teddy: Thanks! Future Mother-In-Law is also planning our Rehearsal Dinner. She seemed shocked that all the places she wanted are booked. Um hello??! I told you last April to book early!!!

I have heard great things about the Red Drum!!  My fiance and I are taking all oot guests on a boatcruise of the Charleston harbor, they provide drinks and we will be doing a lowcountry boil on the beach.

@twopeasinapod: Wow that sounds awesome! For your low country boil on the beach, what beach and who is the caterer you’re using? Sounds exactly like what my Future Mother-In-Law wants to do.

Another good place is Cork Bistro, they do rehearsal dinners up to 50 people.. Its in North Charleston, I’ve heard lots of good things about that place!
