In Kingston, I love Boitson’s! I think they might even have a private party space. (But double check that!) The food is great and so is the vibe. There’s also Terrapin in Rhinebeck, I think… I’ve had dinner there a few times and its always excellent.

HoeBowl is not great, at least it wasn’t when I was in college there a few years ago. We are doing a casual thing at the hotel in Poughkeepsie the night before just with trays of snacks and stuff.

I think it depends what you want. Shadows on the Hudson is lovely, there are also Amicis and River Station near the train station.

There are lots of lovely restaurants in Rhinebeck too.

@Maurasaurus:  What kind of vibe do you want? That might help me recommend some other places in Poughkeepsie! Which hotel are you using?

@Maurasaurus:  Hmm, that is tough, but is also the area I know best. Lets see. Its going to be tough since Vassar is probably in session already so it will be crowded around there. All of these places are walking distance to the Days Inn.

Beech Tree: small but really nice, might be expensive

Babycakes Cafe: they have a nice sort of like separate area that could work well, might be fairly reasonable

Billy Bob’s Bbq: if you want something really casual, I haven’t eaten there but we used to hang out there a lot in college when it was a mexican place and its totally fine. yelp reviews are pretty good

Dubliner Irish Pub: also very casual, but the food is really good and its a nice bar

I think we are having our after-party at the Coyote Grill on Route 9, which has decent food and a nice bar, you could check with them too.

@Maurasaurus:  I walked by there when I was up at Vassar a few weeks ago, and it was definitely still open.
