- Wedding: May 2011
Many people have told me not to invite/allow the wedding party to bring dates to the actual rehearsal. They say that it is distracting to have several people who are not in the wedding waiting around chit chatting while the wedding party is trying to rehearse. I think this makes total sense. Inevitably dates/family members will start talking to each other and to the wedding party and chaos will occur. So….to my question:
I want everyone to have the option of bringing a date to the rehearsal dinner but not the rehearsal at the church. I was thinking of have two separate invitations: one for the rehearsal which would only have the wedding party member’s name on it and one for the rehearsal dinner with both the wedding party member’s name and date name/guest on it. Is this clear enough? Or should I just include something on one invitation that says “no dates please”— (suggestions on wording would be great)
I’m not sure how to word that without being rude so thats why i thought of doing two invitations.
What are everyone’s thoughts?
