Our rehearsal dinner is a Western BBQ.  Here’s the link to the pictures of our DIY invitations that I posted a few weeks ago.

Does your rehearsal have a theme or a certain type of cuisine?  You could use that as the premise.  Otherwise, you can make them as fun or fancy as you want, so long as they convey the type of dinner you’re having.

you can see mine here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/07/18/the-one-with-two-parties-cont/… basically we invited everyone to a rehearsal party…and then invited just the wedding party to a rehearsal dinner prior to the party.

I believe the wording to the party was:

Mr Corn’s Parents
request your company
at the rehearsal party
a wine tasting and dinner
in honor of
Miriam and Davis
Friday, the seventh of September
at 6:00 in the evening
Newport Vineyards
Middletown, Rhode Island
Kindly reply by August nineteenth
(phone number)

Then there was an insert for the actual rehearsal dinner invitees that said:

Immediately following the rehearsal
please join Mr Corn’s Parents
for dinner at
The Moorings

try going to an invitations site like weddingpaperdivas.com and check out their Rehearsal Dinner invite wording.  We ordered ours from there as it is a bit more formal
