My advice is to talk to your Fiance, explain to him that although you’d love to have the Rehearsal Dinner at his sister’s restaurant, it’s not working with the schedule and you’ll have to find someplace else.

You don’t need to be stressed over something like this- the few days before your wedding are hectic enough!  Trying to rearrange the entire day just to have the Rehearsal Dinner there is a bit much.

Can your grandmother bring a snack so she can munch on something then eat a light dinner (salad)? I know what you’re going through ( my mom has diabetes).

Ugh, how annoying! I think you’re kind of stuck with the sister’s restaurant though. Changing it now could cause a major rift. Hopefully your venue will let you move up the rehearsal time.

@greenidlady:  I would have it elsewhere if at all possible. It sounds like they think they can push you around just because you’re family. I guarantee they wouldn’t do this to anyone else who was making a party reservation there.

Can’t you get a plate or some snacks for your grandmother and the rest of you wait at the bar until they can seat you?  It’s family, sometimes you’re going to make the schedule not work for them and vice versa … I really think this isn’t that big of a deal.

Everything else aside – can you get your marriage license sooner? I’d be REALLY worried about waiting until the day before to get it. There’s just too many things that could go wrong – car troubles, someone is sick, missing a piece of ID, I don’t know…

It doesn’t help the restaurant thing, but I would do everything I could to get that done earlier.

you know what ?  You’ve done what you can do.  If Fiance wants this to happen and make it all work, I think I’d let him know this is on his list of things to handle.

Seriously? 11 days out and THE last thing you need is stress. it’s his family let him deal with it.
