I think that’s a great idea.  Sounds relaxing and casual and people that haven’t seen each other in a long time can hang out.

that is exactly what we did!  We had just moved into a nice apartment complex with a nice large club house that we could rent for the evening.  It had plenty of tables, chairs, couches, mini kitchen, tv, surround sound, pool table room with bigger tvs, free coffee and plenty of space.  It was very nicely decorated and set up.  Also we could use the pool.  It worked out great!!!  I recommend it.

We had a local bbq place caterer it and we brought our own drinks like beer, soda, lemonade etc.  we made our own desserts and used paper plates/forks/knives etc.  Originally I thought it’d be to tacky to use paper stuff but I went with it and nobody seemed to mind and it was 1000 times easier.  we did all the clean up ourselves.  The club house had a few extra tables we used to set up the food and do buffett style.  we had overhead music playing and a slide show of our photos and baby photos playing loop in the game room.  the kids liked pretending to play pool and they also went swimming at the end!  we had to put up signs that said “private party” on the doors so no neighbors would think it was an open party.  we had to bring things like trash bags, ice and cups for everyone but our apartment was luckily 2 steps away.  there was plenty of parking and I’d recommend putting up balloons at local intersections to let people know they’re getting close!

Overall it was great!  It was very relaxed and comfortable which is what we were going for.  Also it was CHEAP!  I was very satesfied.

I attended a barbacue at a club house and it was awesome! Everyone got to spend time talking to each other and catching up. I give this idea big thumbs up. 🙂
