klmcgrego :  Open Table has a list or restaurants with private rooms for many cities. You can search by neighborhood, budget, cuisine, number of guests and also check reviews.

klmcgrego :  I second PP’s suggestion to start with Open Table. However most restaurants don’t do online reservations for such large groups, a private room will generally come with a rental fee, or a food and bev min. I ran into this when planning my wedding dinner, and also several work dinners for our large group. Just things to keep in mind, most of the food and bev mins I ran into were about $2K, then there’s tax and tip as well. Depending on what kind of restaurant/food you’re looking for $1500 may not be realistic for a group of that size in such an expensive area. Good luck!

I’m not sure if they have a Point Loma location, but we had our welcome dinner at BJ’s in La Jolla. We had the entire outside patio and had unlimited pizza, pasta, salad, and sodas for $13 or $14 pp. We had 32 people and even with a small amount of alcohol and tip, we paid right at $600.

The Bali Hai restaurant on Shelter Island (right near Point Loma) has private rooms and a beautiful patio overlooking the harbor and downtown San Diego.  A friend of mine had a birthday dinner in one of their private rooms, and I think she said it was $25 pp including champagne.
