We are having our rehearsal dinner at a sports bar/pizza place. I wanted to keep it casual but cute. Everyone is asking what theme/centerpieces/decorations we are going to do. Ugh! I just planned all that for the wedding and now I have to do it for the rehearsal too? Can you please help me with ideas for decorations?? Whats a good theme???? Thanks!!

Our theme is “I love you, so eat, enjoy the gift I’m giving you and give me a margarita!”

Theme for a rehearsal dinner? That’s a new one for me too!
Um. Since it’ll be at a sports bar/pizza place, they probably already have stuff on the table. Right? But since I guess you need to do a theme, why don’t you do a sports theme? Do you and your SO have a favorite team? Maybe you can do your favorite team’s colors and as an inexpensive centerpiece, do shakers in a vase down the tables. I would really keep the theme going with the venue. I just think sports bar are usually so decorated in sports stuff that anything outside of a sports theme would just look odd.

I don’t think that you need a theme or decorations. If you are going to a resturaunt the tables will already have things on them, won’t they? Don’t stress over it, just enjoy and relax.

I have never heard of having a theme for the rehearsal dinner, it just seems way unnecessary. Restaurants are decorated enough, don’t even think of stressing yourself our over decorations or centerpieces!

Ok thanks bees. Im not going to stress. I think I’ll just bring in some balloons or something!

@jneden:We didn’t have a theme at all. My Mother-In-Law wanted us to do a theme too but I put her in her place and said NO. We just had pizza and beer, and enjoyed ourselves, was nothing formal and was great!

People kept asking me about a theme as well. I am pretty sure there would have been no theme but i got tired of the question. So since my future in laws are bbqing for the rehearsal dinner i just said it was bbq themed. Is that a thing?? I have no idea. . . but people just smile and agree when I say it haha
I dont think you really need a theme. Just do whatever you want =)

@jneden: Tell them each table has a functional centerpiece consisting of ketchup, salt and pepper :). I felt the same way about planning the rehearsal dinner, so I made Fiance do most of the work for that one. One person can only do so much!
