I was just reading that Fiance and I are supposed to do a toast at the rehearsal dinner. Does anyone else speak? I assume FI’s parents, as the hosts.
Is the rehearsal dinner a toasting free-for-all?! (I ask because I was at a destination wedding rehearsal dinner and cousin’s boyfriend’s kids were getting up to speak and it dragged on forever).
What is typical/expected?

From the rehearsal dinners I have been to, only the parents of the bride and groom speak.

@phillybride61513: Yikes, we didn’t do toasts at our rehearsal or at the wedding…!

At my Rehearsal Dinner only Darling Husband and I gave toasts. I have also seen the groom’s parents do a toast at dinners.

@phillybride61513: i’ve seen it where the host (groom’s parents) start the first toast. the bride and groom can say something and then whoever else wants to talk can talk.
at my wedding, only the Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor will be giving toasts so we are letting the entire bridal party speak at the Rehearsal Dinner.
