Originally, SuperFine and I had assumed we’d be paying for our own rehearsal dinner and was going to budget way down for it. Last week, Future Mother-In-Law made sure we knew that she and Future Father-In-Law would cover it for us.
We still don’t want to blow the budget out of the water, but now we’re not sweating it as much.
Can I get some recommendations for rehearsal dinner venues that won’t broke the bank, but will still have good ambiance and food?

I’m not sure the price, but Canoe has a great atmosphere and food.

Not sure what kind of budget you’re looking for or where in Atlanta, but I just got back from a weekend of eating in Atlanta looking for our Rehearsal dinner spot –
South City Kitchen
Two Urban Licks (or any of the Concentrics group of restaurants: Murphy’s, Parish, ONE)
4th and Swift
Einstein’s (not the bagel place!)
All were delicious!

two choices were : Canoe and Murphy’s
In the end I chose Murphy’s because it had an upscale atmosphere with a laid back feel. The food was awesome. The price was great!!! As long as your party is 20 or less you can do regular reservation without using the special room or menu. That’s a big deal because the special room would require a four course meal.
Canoe lost because the food was priced VERY high and I was not satified with the food everytime I went. When we asked for well done, it came back VERY RARE. On the plus side, the outside area is lovely. It is nestled in an attractive scenery near a river.
Anyways, I hope this helps.
