Our wedding is in less than 2 months and I just realized that besides booking the restaurant, we haven’t planned anything for the wedding. It will be at an upscale chicago style pizza restaurant in a private room that is pretty nice. Besides providing food and drink is there anything else we need to do? Do we need decorations, favors, special cake, etc?
Also, do we need to send formal invites? My FFIL’s are hosting and they do everything word of my mouth. My family and friends, not so much, we will at least do an e-vite. Ack! I hope I don’t have to plan an entire other “party” or do I? Help!

@RobinGirl: If the FIL’s are hosting they are the ones who need to make the decisions.
Have you talked with them about the rehearsal dinner? Have they asked you for a guest list?

@julies1949: I provided them with a guest list a while back, but I know they won’t send out invites. They hosted our engagement party and I had to talk them into letting me send an evite (as them) for the party. For example, every year they host a large summer party and my Future Mother-In-Law personally calls and invites over 90 people. Because most of the rehearsal dinner attendees are on my side (their family is out of the country) or the bridal party, so I just don’t see them doing anything to let anyone know about it. The opposite holds true for the wedding and the reception where about 35% of the attendees are on my side and the balance are on theirs.
