Where is everyone having their rehearsal dinner/welcome party? I know not everyone has a welcome party, but for those who do, what kind of venue did you choose? How are you planning for it? Are you doing welcome bags? We have a LOT of people traveling so we decided to open it up to anyone invited so we didn’t have to exclude anyone. My Future Mother-In-Law and Future Father-In-Law are hosting, and they booked a soundstage at a movie studio lot (we live in LA), on the lawn of a house where they filmed a pretty famous movie! It’s different and they wanted a casual garden party feel to contrast the formal wedding.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions, stories, regrets about their rehearsal/welcome party/night before, please share!

Wow, that sounds pretty fancy! We had a “rehearsal dinner” the night before the wedding, but it was way casual and just for our immediate families to officially meet for the first time. We went to a local pizza place. It will be a great even no matter where it is!

We are having a welcome party too. We chartered a yacht during sunset and after the sunset cocktail cruise we will eat dinner on the shore of the river.
We are doing welcome bags but everyone will be staying at our venue so they will be in the rooms.
Yours sounds awesome! I’m curious what the movie is if you don’t mind sharing!

that sounds amazing! What a great idea. his parents actually surprised us with it, but it’s on the lawn of the house where they filmed an old movie based during the civil war… Big White plantation House ;). Blew me away completely(Pun intended lol). Our wedding is going to be pretty formal so we are actually doing a lawn party/bbq type dinner. So casual aside from where is actually is. The yacht soundsso nice. I would love going to a wedding where they had that!

that sounds great! As much as i love our venue, im sad it won’t be very intimate with close family and friends. I’ll be socializing with people I’ve never met before, which usually makes me pretty uncomfortable. But at least I’ll get some of it out of the way!
