Hey Bees. I NEED HELP.
I’m going shopping with Future Mother-In-Law tomorrow. I went tonight to try and get an idea of something flattering for my shape ( im a pear I think but i’ve got more hips then i know what to do with and some extra pounds to try and hide ). I didn’t find anything even remotely flattering. I have my heart set on gray, black, or white(ish) dresses since i’m wearing my Puprple wedding heels.
What kind of dresses did yall wear to your dinners?
Any tips/tricks to camoflauge some trouble areas and still look cute?
Please and Thank you

Where are you going shopping? If you have a Nordstrom’s near you, call them and set up a personal shopper. It’s totally free of charge and they will pull dresses for you that will flatter your shape.

David’s Bridal has some pretty short, white (if that’s what you want) dresses. I’ve been eyeing this one:

Look for something that defines your waist and flairs out slightly at the hips. something with a little volume on top, a V neck or a bateau neckline to make your shoulders look a little wider…it helps make your hips look more proportionate. I completely second the Nordstrom personal shopper idea. They know the merchandise and Marty bring things you wouldn’t necessarily pick for yourself.
I wore this BCBG dress. It had pockets. the skirt flares out some and there was a layer of tulle under it to keep its shape.
