Ok, so I’m taking a poll because I’m not sure how I feel on this.
Is it tacky to create an event on Facebook for the Rehearsal Dinner? I can post directions and times and places and can answer any questions from out of town guests who are invited. Everyone (with the exception of one person) is on Facebook.
I sent out formal wedding invitations.. and I have a wedding website but I never update it and would have to search through my e-mail to even remember where I set the darn thing up at…..

personally, i love having invitations as keepsakes, but i think it is perfectly fine to send an evite. just remember, the invitation sets the tone for the event, so if it is fancier dress, i would just notate that on the evite

I don’t think there is anything wrong with doing an electronic invitation, like an evite, but I’m not sure I’d do it on facebook. Everything on facebook is public, and everyone on your friend’s list can see who was invited, who has RSVPd, etc, even if the event is “private”. I assume if everyone is on facebook, that they also check their e-mail which makes something like e-vite another option. Plus, with the e-vite, you can personalize it a little bit more and it can be cute!

I see no problem with facebook. Except what Krises says concerns me about making it private yet it’s still public. You should do a test and see if those not invited are able to see any of the details or who’s invited/coming.
But FB is like evite that way except you don’t have to track down all the e-mail addresses!
